In partnership with Telegraph Hill Neighborhood Center (Tel-Hi), we offer an array of services—all free of charge—to support you in achieving your greatest potential. Youth Employment Services (YES) Program is recruiting Interns for the Summer 2012 Session!

Who we're looking for:

  •  ·     San Francisco high school youth (incoming 9th-12th graders) staff & adult allies
  • ·      Current GPA of at least 2.0
  •        Positive work ethic
  •        Can work at least 2 afternoons per week, and attend mandatory trainings/workshops
  •        Interested in building skills and having fun

 

Benefits:  What do we offer our young people?

  •  ·     A paid internship ($300 stipend) at Tel-Hi’s programs, local organizations, or businesses
  • ·      1:1 support with from teen staff & adult allies
  • ·      High school graduation & college readiness support

Beacon Afterschool Program (BASP)

The Beacon Afterschool Program (BASP) is a free afterschool program located at Francisco Middle School. We are open from the end of the school day until 6:25pm. We offer students support in the following areas: Academic, Enrichment, and Recreational. Some of the enrichment and recreational activities include cooking, art, science, media, ping pong, basketball, baseball, and soccer. BASP strives to provide extra academic support and extra-curricular opportunities for the overall well-being of our students. We welcome all middle school students within the San Francisco Unified School District.

 

Salsa Classes

Introductory Salsa classes take places on Tuesdays from 6:15pm - 7:15pm @ Francisco Middle School's Little Theater (2190 Powell Street).  Enter through the gates off Francisco St.  Salsa Chamption, Anya Latushko, is the instructor.  Everyone welcome! Suggested donation: $5 (not required).  The series ends at the end of February.

 

Zumba Classes

We're bringing Zumba to you on Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:30-7:30pm in the Tel-Hi Gym with certified Zumba instructor Jennifer Sanchez.  Suggested donation: $5 (not required).  Tel-Hi Gym:  555 Chestnut Street (between Mason and Powell).  The series ends at the end of February.
